Last week, Acadecap students put on their rainy season gear and bused over to Stony Swamp for their annual spring nature walk. Guided through the forest by Robert, Diane and Barbara of the McCoun Field Naturalists Club, students learned about the different living things in the forest, saw some insects and the infamous Emerald Ash Borer, heard some bird songs and learned about the varieties of tress that were native to the area. They also learned how to identify the age of a tree, saw some planted trees and how their formation differed from the natural forest and got to ask many questions to the experts! Huge thanks to Robert and his team! We had not yet explored the Sarsaparilla trail, it was really fun!
