Getting deeper into our unit of inquiry

Another busy week here in grades 3 and 4. Some of the activities we did were:
-Games outside with the grade 1 and 2 class where grade 3 and 4 students got to demonstrate the traits exemplified by a hero by leading the games and helping the younger kids;
-Students practiced proper use of dictionaries to help them with their French workbook activities;
-As a class, we paid tribute to Mme Mary by writing memories and messages of support to her family;
-Students acted as the teacher and read books to their peers about being an everyday hero;
-We did a guided meditation for relaxation and replenishment before beginning our module period;
-Grade 3 students worked on perfecting their cursive writing;
-Students got ample time to work in their groups on their skits, which will be presented on Monday to the grade 1 and 2 class. They will teach, through acting out a scene, the role of a hero;
-Students were each given a famous hero to research for homework and they each presented their hero this morning, explaining who the person is/was and why the person is considered a hero;
-Students were told that their summative task for our unit will be a letter to their actual hero. More details forthcoming.

Bon week-end!
