L’exposition PP 2020, Académie de la Capitale : un projet qui encourage une recherche collective et approfondie.

En dernière année du programme primaire, les élèves participent à un projet de fin d’études : l’exposition. C’est à la fois une recherche menée dans l’esprit d’une responsabilité personnelle et partagée, et une activité servant à célébrer le passage des élèves de 6ème année vers l’enseignement secondaire.

Cette année, les apprenants de 5 et 6ème années ont conçu un projet numérique adapté à la situation exceptionnelle que nous vivons. Ce projet est construit autour du module 4 intitulé “l’humanité explore un univers vaste et complexe”. C’est à partir de cette idée principale que les élèves ont pensé leur projet commun d’exposition PP : La Terraformation de la planète Mars!

Un projet ambitieux que les élèves ont nommé “NOTERRA”. Ils l’ont mené avec autonomie, collaboration et agentivité.

Après avoir identifié les besoins d’une telle mission et posé la problématique “comment vivre sur Mars?” les apprenants, se sont organisés en 4 équipes de travail :

• L’équipe 1 présente le système solaire.
• La 2ème équipe propose des solutions concernant le voyage vers Mars.
• La 3ème équipe mène une recherche biologique
• L’équipe 4 travaille sur la conception d’habitations sur Mars.

Nous vous proposons de suivre ce travail sous forme de films/épisodes depuis le site web NOTERRA conçu par les élèves, les réseaux sociaux de l’Académie de la Capitale, ou depuis la chaîne Youtube du projet NOTERRA (le lien vous sera communiqué ultérieurement). Les diffusions se feront à compter du lundi 8 juin 9h.

• EPISODE 2 : 3, 2, 1 … décolage !
• EPISODE 3 : Cultiver sur la planète rouge.
• EPISODE 4 : Construire une ville habitée sur Mars

Académie de la Capitale’s 2020 PYP Exhibition: A project that encourages collaborative and in-depth research, develops creativity and critical thinking skills

The PYP Exhibition is the culminating experience for students in their final year of the Primary Years Programme. It is a year-long, student-directed project, in which students work collaboratively with their peers and teachers to conduct an in-depth inquiry into real life issues or problems. All of the essential elements of the PYP are synthesized in ways that can be shared with the whole school community. The PYP Exhibition is an opportunity for students to exhibit the attributes of the IB learner profile developed throughout their engagement with the PYP.

This year, to adapt to the exceptional situation we have and are still experiencing, learners in grades 5 and 6 have designed a digital PYP exhibition project. This project had been built around unit 4 of the PYP curriculum, with the central idea, “Humanity explores a vast and complex universe”. It was from this central idea that the students thought of their joint PYP exhibition project: The Terraformation of the planet Mars!

This ambitious project was named “NOTERRA”.

After having identified the needs of such an ambitious mission, students asked the question, “How can humans sustain life on Mars?” The learners were organized into 4 work teams:

• Team 1: Introduce and present the solar system
• Team 2: Offer solutions for the trip to Mars
• Team 3: Conduct biological research
• Team 4: Work on housing design on Mars
