New unit of inquiry – the brain!

799 0

Our new unit on the brain has officially begun. Not only will we be talking about the brain as a part of our anatomy and its functions, but we will also be discussing our individual learning styles and how they differ from one person to another. Students have already done a questionnaire that told them how they learn best. Make sure to ask your child which learning style(s) he or she got on the questionnaire. Some students fell into more than one category. We did the Stroop colour test (ask your child to tell you about it)! Tons of laughter was heard as students tried to decipher between colours and words–the brain processes words faster than colours. We also learned about the 4 lobes of the brain and what their functions are, and we did a “3-minute test” to see how well we can follow instructions. This unit is going to be a lot of fun!
