Why IB?
What does IB mean for the school?

What is the PYP?
- Students aged 3 to 12 follow a Programme of Inquiry, which has 5 components:
- Knowledge
- Concepts
- Skills
- Attitude
- Action
- Learning is inquiry-based.
- 5 components.
- The PYP identifies a body of knowledge for all students in all cultures, in 6 subject areas:
- Languages
- Social studies
- Mathematics
- Science and Technology
- Arts
- Personal, Social, and Physical Education
- Links are made with specialist programmes (Visual Arts, Music, Jiu-jitsu, Dance, Drama, Math Enrichment, Spanish, Information Technology)
- 2/3 of the classes are taught in French.
What does “Inquiry based” mean?
Students:
- learn to ask higher-order questions baed on the following concepts:
- Form -- what is it like?
- Function -- how does it work
- Causation -- why is it like this?
- Change -- how is it changing?
- Connection -- how is it connected to other things?
- Perspective -- what are the points of view?
- Responsibility -- what is our responsibility?
- Reflection -- how do we know?
- learn to organize their research
ESL/FSL Programme
Additional ESL, or FSL support is provided to foreign language students (5x45 minutes/week). The ESL or FSL programme is available at the additional non-refundable cost of $3300.00 for the school year, payable on September 1 or in three equal payments (September 1, December 1, and March 1).
