Director’s Message

At Académie de la Capitale, our mission as a bilingual IB World School is to promote academic excellence and the total growth of the child in an environment that places strong emphasis on the ideas of international understanding.

The Acadecap school motto is « “Inquisitive Minds at Work!“ ». We strive to foster inquisitive minds in our students by encouraging them to experience all things in life with curiosity and query. Our goal is to enable students to become culturally responsible, informed and active participants in their world by offering them a rich interdisciplinary curriculum:

• A strong foundation in basic literacy, numeric and investigative skills gives our students the tools they need to ask good questions about the world around them in order to find in-depth answers.
• The comprehensive study of Fine Arts, Music, Dance and Drama broadens our students’ horizons.
• Acadecap students learn to communicate in a third language, Spanish or Mandarin.
• Information Technology is introduced as early as age 3 to help children learn how to find and assess information in a critical manner.
• Physical education classes include physical fitness, gymnastics, Jiu-jitsu, outdoor physical education, individual and team sports, and health.
• Compulsory math enrichment classes complement our already advanced daily programme Défi mathématiques/Challenging Math. They further enable students to develop in-depth math concepts in authentic problem solving situations, and encourages the development of creative, logical and critical thinking skills in our students.
