Admission to the Primary Years Programme 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 

Enrollment at Acadecap International School (Académie de la Capitale) may be done at any time of the year,  provided the student has been accepted and all admission requirements have been met.  

The admissions process begins with completing an application to the school. It carries an  Application Fee of $185, paid upon submitting the application.  

Following the application and prior to acceptance, an assessment will be done for each student where the student must spend one day (*1) at the school to be evaluated in terms of willingness and ability to participate in the inquiry and to learn independently as well as cooperatively. This visit day is included in the application fee. 

The following documents must also be remitted to the Registrar on the day of the visit.  

A copy of the student’s last report card, 

Any report impacting on the teaching and learning of your child  

ADDITIONAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 

The visit day will be followed by a meeting/interview with the director, the parents/guardian and the student to review the student’s day of visit and discuss the teacher observations.  

Students entering Grade 1 and up must submit a recommendation from the previous homeroom teacher,  subject teachers, counselor and/or director. Please refer to section VI – Feedback on the Learner. (*2)

During Covid-19 students in grade 1-6 are asked to submit the feedback on the learner form.

Once all admission requirements have been met, a letter of acceptance/ refusal will be issued to the applicant and his/her parents/guardian. Once a place is offered to a prospective student, parents will be required to sign a  contract and pay a one-time only, non-refundable $550 Family Membership Fee. A child’s place is only assured once this is settled. 

Parents will also be required to sign other school schedules and provide additional documents such as copy of the child’s birth certificate, passport and immunization records, in order to complete the enrollment process.

Upon their acceptance to the school, it is essential that students understand and respect this commitment by signing the Acadecap International School (Académie de la Capitale) Agreement to Reach for the  IB Learner Profile. 

ADDITIONAL VISIT DAYS  (*2)

Additional visit days carry a cost of $185 per day and are subject to availability. This includes the lunch program on those days. Should a visit day fall during a field trip or special activity, parents/guardians will be invoiced for the activity, if there is a corresponding fee.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The following documents must also be remitted to the Registrar.  

A copy of the student’s last 2 report cards (translated in English or French),  

Any report impacting on the teaching and learning of your child  

Following the application and prior to acceptance, additional documents such as official transcripts as well as report cards from previous years may be requested to better assess the student’s level. An online interview may also be required. If the student is already in Canada, the student is encouraged to spend one day at the school to be evaluated in terms of willingness and ability to participate in the inquiry and to learn independently as well as cooperatively. This will be followed by a meeting/interview with the director, the parents/guardian and the  student to review the student’s day of visit and discuss the teacher observations 

ADDITIONAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Once all admission requirements have been met, a Letter of Invitation will be issued to the applicant and his/her parent(s)/guardian. Upon accepting the invitation to join Acadecap International School (Académie de la  Capitale), parent(s)/guardian will be required to sign the enrollment contract and provide additional documents such as copy of the child’s birth certificate, passport, and immunization records. The following fees must then be settled in order to complete the enrollment process: a one-time only, non-refundable $550 Family  Membership Fee, a non-refundable $1700 International Student Fee, and a portion of the tuition fees (specified in the tuition schedule). It is only upon receipt of payments that an official Letter of Acceptance will be issued. 

Please note that students are responsible for their visas/study permits, medical insurance, and accommodations.
