New for the 2017-2018 school year, the SuperSats sessions have added Python and Raspberry Pi Day!
As part of our SuperSats Series, we are providing sessions on Python and Raspberry Pi. Each session will be split into two parts; the first part being an in-depth lesson on the fundamentals of Python from their first print “hello, world!” to bitwise operators and the second being everything Raspberry Pi. The students will take what they have learned about Python and apply it to being taught the basics of running the terminal to building their own projects. These sessions are intended to provide an in-depth understanding of the Python programming language while applying these new learned skills to build various projects with Raspberry Pi.
This session is a great introduction to students on how to combine various features of software and hardware components. Python is one of the industry leading programming languages that is not only highly taught in universities in Canada and the world, but also used by 500 fortune companies like Google and Facebook so it is never too early to start learning. With Python, students can use Raspberry Pi and it’s hardware components to build various projects that range from building a simple breadboard with LED lights that have a set interval to building a ginger bread house with working LED lights; the applications are endless.
All sessions are from 9:00am – 12:00pm and ages are 8 – 14.
First Term Dates:
- September 16th
- November 18th
- December 16th
