In the last few weeks, we’ve have the opportunity to do lots of hands on learning. We built Rube Goldberg Machines as a school activity, and more recently, we learned how to build a catapult! First, we designed our own, and tried to see which designs worked the best. Then, Madame Shannon demonstrated a catapult, and we all built them to take them home.
We’ve continued learning about machines, and now we’re learning about how they’re powered. We got a special visit from Dr B, who helped us learn about the different ways machines are powered.
After Dr B. left, we talked about renewable energy and what types we’ve seen. This inspired us to build pinwheels to mimic how wind electricity works!
