Children’s rights

Picture Picture The Grade 5/6s started their new unit about Children’s rights. As an opening activity, the students partnered up and outlined one of the other students on chart paper to represent a child. The students then were tasked with writing 10 things that the child would need in order to be happy and healthy. The students then had to narrow down their list of 10 things down to a list of 5. We then had a class discussion about needs versus wants, and what children need. The students were very creative and thoughtful in their thinking.
