​We celebrated Lunar New Year in our class by making Chinese lanterns today. We learned about the legend of Nian (“Year”) This mythical creature was afraid of loud noises, bright lights, and the colour red. These traditions are still observed, around the world, during Lunar New Year today! We also learned about the Chinese calendar and the zodiac. We found out that our SK students were born in the year of the Monkey and that our JK students were born in the year of the rooster.
