The students have been working diligently on their science fair projects. Their science fair projects are linked to the the unit we had surrounding sustainability. One group looked at the effects of pollution on plants by watering the plants with water, eco-friendly soap, regular soap, and vinegar, representing acid rain, and seeing the effects on the plants’ health. Another group looked at the effects of the melting ice caps on the sea level in the ocean, conducting an experiment on a smaller scale with ice cubes.
