To introduce our unit of inquiry on Learning about Learning, the students were given a Stroop test. With various strategies coming forth on how to accomplish this activity, students questioned what was occurring in their brains. Moreover, they wondered why it was so difficult to say the colours shown rather than what was written. The students were surprised to learn that this test was a battle between their right- and left-brain hemispheres. They learned that each hemisphere has certain responsibilities and strengths. With this, they reflected on whether they were more left- or right-brain learners. They also discussed how every brain is unique and learns in various ways, and how there are different types of intelligences.

Pour introduire le module sur Apprendre à Apprendre, les élèves ont fait un test Stroop. Les étudiants se demandaient que ce qui passait dans leur cerveau. Ils se demandaient pourquoi c’était difficile de dire les couleurs au lieu de lire les mots écrits. Ils étaient surpris d’apprendre que c’était une bataille entre l’hémisphère droit et l’hémisphère gauche du cerveau. En apprenant que chaque hémisphère a leurs propres responsabilités, les élèves ont discuté leurs types d’intelligences et d’apprentissages. De plus, ils ont refléchi sur le fait que chaque cerveau est unique et que chaque individu apprend de différentes façons.
