2021 Summer Camps

Summer just doesn’t feel like summer at AcadeCap without our campers and coders bringing their laughter and eagerness to learn and have fun doing so.

Last summer’s camps were set up differently due to COVID-19, but the laughter and learning continued remotely with our online AcadeCamp and AcadeCoders. Thank you for inviting us into your home to learn with your children.

The planning for summer 2021 is in full swing and we are hopeful that onsite camps will be feasible this year. We are creating fun, creative and engaging programmes taking into consideration COVID-19 distancing and masking protocols. In the event that we cannot hold camps onsite, we are also planning in a way that AcadeCoders and AcadeCamp can be held online again.

AcadeCap staff take the health and safety of our campers very seriously. With the very fluid nature of this pandemic and its corresponding protocols, AcadeCap not only looks to and follows OPH and the government for current protocols, we look at what’s been working and not working around the world and evaluate their best practices for possible implementation.

We cannot wait to share with you what we have been working on for AcadeCamp and AcadeCoders 2021!

About The Author

My name is Shannon Neill and I am currently the Grade 1/2 teacher at AcadeCap. I began my teaching career in 2017 after graduating from McGill University with a Bachelor’s of Education, specialized in French Immersion Pedagogy. Since my first year of teaching, I have been working with Grade 1 and 2 students, from Montreal, to Winnipeg, and now Ottawa, where I have been with AcadeCap since 2018. Working with students in Grade 1 and 2 is definitely something special. The students are curious, honest and so willing to learn and share - I consider myself pretty lucky to be able to learn from my students every day!
